Stacking the Shelves (61)

"Stacking the Shelves" is a weekly theme hosted by Tynga's reviews . Feel free to join in if you want. In this theme I showcase all the books I got this week.

Last week I got no books. No books. This barely happens to me. I usually get at least one book in a week so this really shows how hectic school has been. However, this week I at least got a few books. Also there was something really exciting at my library!!

The Essence by Kimberly Derting
I read The Pledge a while ago and really loved it and I got this from the library a few months ago and never read it *runs in shame*. So when I saw at my library I had to get again.

Hidden by Sophie Jordan
I read the first two in the series a little while ago. A little while means about two years. And I want to finish this series so I got it from the library.

Story time!!
So for the past month or two I've been seeing these pics on the interweb of libraries doing this "blind date" thing where they wrap a book up in white paper so you can't see what it is and put them on display. And you randomly pick one and check it out and you open it when you get home to see what you got. So, basically its a blind date with a book. And I love this idea, I always thought it sounded like fun you know. And guys, guys my library did this!!!! So of course I had to get one!! Although I'm sad they're only did it for a week and I didn't have time to get another one, but I got one.

Pics!!!

I got Blood Prophecy by Alyxandra Harvey
This is both exciting and disappointing. Exciting because it was my blind date!! Disappointing, because I haven't read this series and it's the 6th one.

That's what I got this week, what did you get?
Happy reading

  1. Great haul! I've never heard of the blind date thing, but that sounds like soooo much fun! That sucks you got a #6 though. And I just read my first Sophie Jordan book not too long ago, and I'm officially a fan! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Hidden. Happy reading :)

I've heard of the blind date idea but my library haven't done it yet. The people who come into my work, I don't think they'd really go for it which is a shame. I want to do the mystery one I have seen, where you turn all the books around in the crime section so the mystery book really is a mystery! Sounded like such a great idea, now to convince the manager!!! My STS.

  5. That's such a good idea!! It would be so fun if my library or the bookstore by me did that!

  6. It is such a fun thing to do! And it did suck a little that I couldn't read my "blind date".

  7. I hate it too, but it did introduced me to one of my favorite series, the Soul Screamers series. One time when I went to the library I picked up a book that looked really good and when I got home I discovered that it was the fourth book in the Soul Screamers series. So, I requested the first book and now I'm obsessed with the series!!
