The Monster Thon: Sign Up and Goals

Hello all, I've been in a little bit of a reading slump lately. So I thought what better way to get over it then a read-a-thon. This one is hosted by The Book Monsters.

It starts March 31st and lasts until April 6th.

This can be a Read-A-Thon, a Review-A-Thon, or both. At first I was just going to do the Read-A-Thon, but I've decided to do both. I will read the books and as soon as I finish one I will write it's review. I also hope to add a few Series Reviews in there.

Goals:

1. I want to read at least 3 books. I don't know how this is going to go considering school. If school is relitivly easy this week I might be able to read even more, if it's a difficult this week I might not even make it to two books.

2. I want to read 2 Graphic Novels. I am almost certain I can do this one.

3. I want to review all the books I read (including Graphic Novels) and write at least two Series Reviews.

For the Bookish Wedding all you have to do is answer the questions.


1. Which fictional character would you marry? Aiden St. Delphi from the Covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. He is tall dark and dreamy, not only that he is loyal and loves a person for who they are. 
2. Who would be your Maid of Honor or Best Man? Gwen from the Mythos Academy series by Jennifer Estep. She is fun, She is loyal and she would be the best best friend. She would never leave your side even if things got rough. 
3. Which fictional world would you want to get married in? Faerie Realm from the Faerie Path series by Frewin Jones. This would just be the perfect place to be married in. It has so many wonderful and beautiful places that would be perfect for having the wedding. 
4. Who would you pick to play the music at your wedding? Celaena Sardothien from the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. It would be so freaking amazing if she would sing some of her songs. 
5. Who would be your photographer? Gosh, I have no idea, maybe Alyssa Gardner from Splintered by A. G. Howard. Only because she is the only fiction photographer/artist I know of. 
6. Who would you sit at the singles table (and hope they'd fall in love)? Dee Black from the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout and Kenji Kishimoto from the Shatter Me series. I feel like these two would be perfect for each other. They both just want to have fun but at the same time they have a very serious side to them. They just seem perfect for each other. 
7. Who would be your flower girl or ring bearer? My flower would be Maria from the Significance series by Shelly Crane. She is just such a cute little girl!! 
8. Who would you want to plan the bachelorette/bachelor party?
Ellie from the Angelfire series by Courtney Allison Moulton. Even though she isn't a party girl per say, but I still think she would be able to plan a great party!!
9. At the wedding, who would be the first on the dance floor? Daemon and Katy from the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. They love each other so much and I can see Daemon convincing her to go on the dance floor. 
10. Who would give a speech or toast? Kelly Winslow. I don't know why I picked her, but she would be another really great best friend and I can see her giving a speech. 
11. Who would catch the boquet or garter? Valek from Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder would catch the garter and Yelena would catch the boquet. So they would finally marry and have little assassin magicians babies and the whole fandom will be happy.

The rules for the Create a Story challenge are simple.

There are two

Double Date Book Challenge -- Writing My Own Fairy Tale
Poem Challenge -- Pen in Her Hand

The rules for the double date challenge are simple
"You must pick two books that you would recommend someone read together (like a double date!) and explain your reasons for the recommendation. You can recommend the books because they are in the same genre, one is a retelling of the other, they deal with the same issues, or maybe they're complete opposites, whatever you want as long as you can explain why they should be read together. Just one exception: they cannot be books from the same series."

So my picks for these are.....

Insomnia by J. R. Johansson and Ten by Gretchen McNeil 
These are both so freaking scary!! I was terrified when I was reading them. And they're total different stories so it wouldn't be like you were reading the same scary story.

Cinder by Marissa Meyer and Of Beast and Beauty by Stacey Jay
These are both such great re-tellings, I loved them!! I feel like they would go so perfectly with one another.

Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins and The Heist Society by Ally Carter.
Even though these are in different genres they are both so fast paced and fun. I had so much fun reading both of these. If you want to read a book that will just lift your spirits I would suggest either of these.

Incarnate by Jodi Meadows and The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa
These are both set in different worlds then ours and they are both slower paced, but they are really great. Not that the Immortal Rules doesn't have any action, but I feel both of these focus more on characters and emotions. But please don't think either of these have action in them, they do and they are just simply great  books.

The second challenge, the poem challenge is also simple.

1. Just choose a novel from any genre, print or ebook, that you’re reading or have finished. Pick a number between 1 and 10, and you’re ready to start!
2. Flip to a page at random. Using your trusty number (for example, let’s use 7) count down 7 lines. Then count in 7 words. Write that word down. Repeat this process until your have fourteen words. 
3. Delete two words and add in two words of your own. 
4. Now arrange your words any way you like to finish your found poem.

I picked the Eternity Cure by Julie Kagawa. Here are my words,only, following, his, if, hospital, stick, of, goal, who, starts, thought, cell, knock, behind. And I will delete hospital and stick and replaced them with the and to.

So my poem made no sense and to tell you this was hard. It took me so long to make this poem.

Bout of Books 9.0 Goals.

I am doing this read-a-thon. I am not planning on reading a lot of books, because this week is going to be very busy for me, but I still wanted to try and do it. 

Like I said, I this week is going to be very busy for me. Finals are coming up and I need to work ahead in school since I am going on vacation two weeks from now and need to have it all done. So it's going to be a very, very busy week, but I am going to try and read at least a little bit each day. I know I'm not going to be able to devote hours and hours every day to reading, but I'm going to read during all of my free time. 

Books: 

• Fullmetal Alchemist 3-in-1 by Hiromu Arakawa
• Rules of Atteraction by Simone Elkeles
• The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
• The Eternity Cure by Julie Kagwawa

Goals:

• Read at least two books, more if I can
• Review all of the books I read
• Comment, comment, comment on other people's post.
• Participate in at least two of the daily challenges. 

So, I want to read two of these books, but it will probably turn out to be two and a half, because I am just about half way through the Eternity Cure. So, if I could finish that and then two more books after that I will be happy. Heck, I would be happy if I only read one books after the Eternity Cure. 

I will also be doing like two or so updates throughout the week. Maybe more if I do some more challenges. So this will be my master post until Thursday or maybe Wednesday.

And than I also read another one, I just randomly started reading this one half-way through and finished it on the same day. And that is Fullmetal Alchemist Volume 4. So, I'm really happy I surpassed my reading goal!!

I'm really glad I did this read-a-thon!! It finally got my out of reading slump. And I will definatlly be doing the Bout Of Books 9.0 In January.

I was reading Ten by Gretchen McNeil yesterday and got most of the way through it before Midnight and than put it down, because I needed sleep. And this morning I read the rest of it, which was 56 pages. So, now my overall pages count is 294 and Overall books finished is Ten by Gretchen McNeil. 

And today's challenge is the Re-Title It @ Music Plus Books. The rules are simple, just rename the book you are reading or just read.

I would re-name Ten by Gretchen MvNeil to The Island.

And I didn't re-do the cover, because I thought that it's kind of perfect.

Bout of Books 8.0: Goal Post

Hello, Everyone this is my goal post for the Bout of Books Read-A-Thon. This Read-A-Thon is very low pressured and only challenges you to beat your normal amount of books you read in a week. So, since I started work I've only been reading about 1 1/2 books a week. Which isn't that great for me, usually I read about 2 or 3 books a week. So, I want to shoot for 4 books for this week.

Time to read:
All week. I have the whole week to read, since my job ended for the summer. Master has given Doby a summer, Doby is Freeeeee!!

Goals:
I want to read a few books that have been on my self for a while and I also want to read some books that I have recently bought. And even though I want to read four I've put 7 on my pail since I like options. And also because two of them are small books that are in a bind up.
I will be doing a progress report every day or so. Depending on which challenges I do.

The Books:
Before Midnight by Cameron Dokey
Golden by Cameron Dokey
Carnival of Souls by Melissa Marr
The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary E. Pearson
Such a Rush by Jennifer Echols
The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa
Ten by Gretchen McNeil.

Want to start with Ten and just go from there. I want to read the Cameron Dokey's book between books to give confidence to myself since they aren't over 250 pages.

Bout Of Books 8.0

I had such a fun time doing the last Bout Of Books read-a-thon that of course I would sign up for the next one. So, yah, I will be doing the bout of books 8.0 which runs through August 19th to August 25th. I will be another post with my goals sometime closer to it.

The Info:
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 19th and runs through Sunday, August 25th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week.
