Q: What is the last book that made you cry? Tell us about the scene...

     It takes a lot in a book to actually make me cry. Sometimes when a book is throwing all these twists and turns and its just chaos and characters are dying (for example the ending of Deity) I choke out a whimper and get misty eyed, but it takes a lot to make me cry, like real big fat tears. And the last book that made me cry was Ash's last test in The Iron Knight. For some reason that scene always make me start bowling my eyes out.

 Q: Activity! Who do you want to be? If you could choose any character from a book. What do you think that character looks like and what do you have in common?

      When ever some one asks me this question I instantly go to these three kick-A heroines. Yelena from The Study series by Maria V. Snyder, Celaena from Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas, and Gin from the Elemental Assassins series. I love these characters because they are so much more then assassins. If you read the books you know what I mean.  I just admire them so much.
     Can I just pick one of the three, you ask. No I can't, because the each have a quality to them that I wish I had. Like Gin's fierce loyalty to the people she loves, Celaena' confidence, and Yelena' ability to think on her feet. That's just some of them.
     What do I have in common with them, absolutely nothing, well maybe Gin's fierce loyalty, but nothing else. These characters are who I strive to be, and no, I do not strive to be a bloodthirsty assassin.

Q: Books are turned into movies all the time! Turn it around. What movie would make a great book?

This is hard to answer, because most of the movies I love where book to movie....... actually all of the movies I love where books first....... How did I not know this about myself..... So anyway, I can't really answer this.

Q: Do you mind books with similar ideas to other books? Similar concepts, backgrounds, retellings or pulled-to-publish fanfic?

     I do not mind books that were influenced by another book and then have similarities to that book, that's fine. However, I think there are boundaries to how similar a book can be to another book. I am fine when a book reminds me of another book because it has the same tone of voice as another book, or if it has the same structure, or has characters that resemble the characters in that book, or if the concept is similar to another book. I am fine if a book has one of those or two of those, but if a book has all of those, then that's crossing a line. If someone looks in a book and takes the characters and everything else from it, then that is just plain disrespectful. An author put her (or his) heart and soul into that book and yet it gets treat it like dirt. 
    The only way I would be fine with that is if they tell me it's a retelling. If anywhere on the book it says it's a retelling, then I'm fine. 
      As for fan fiction I am fine with that. I don't really read fan fiction, because I think a person doesn't know what the character would do accept the author. An author has this idea in her (or his) head and then starts to write about it. Then she adds characters and those characters grow. So, the only person who really knows the characters are the persons who's head they grew in, and that's the authors.

Q: What is a deal breaker for you in a book? For example, do you abhor love triangles? Or can't deal with bad editing? 

     There are very few things, that are in a book, that I can't find a saving grace for. Like, if I am reading a book and I hate the characters but love the plot, I will keep reading the book for the plot or vice versa. However, there is one thing that almost can never have a good enough saving grace and that is when the pacing in a book i so incredibly slow. When it is slow I can't like the characters, I can't get into the plot, it just ruins the book. That is exactly why I couldn't finish Eon and the Tiger's Curse.

Q: What writing device or trick most irritates you when reading a book? For example, if an author employs an omnipotent narrator that is sometimes considered bad form.

     I don't really get annoyed easily when it come to things authors do. There is a lot of things I hate that publishers do, but not much when it comes to authors. The closet I can say is when an author writes a book with very little dialog, because I love dialect and I get bored reading a book where most of it is internal dialog.However, I don't get annoyed when that happens, I just get really, really bored.

Q: When you step out of your USUAL genre what do you like to read? Best books in that genre?

 

My usual genre is paranormal romance, high fantasy, and dystopian. Almost all my books in my bookshelf are from one of those genres. I will never get tired of those genres, they are my favorite, and I love them so much.

The genres I usually stay away from are non-fiction, Si-Fi, and contemporary. I cannot stand most books from those genres. I have only read two contemporary books from beginning to end this year and actually liked them and those books where Stay With Me by Paul Griffin and You Against Me by Jenny Downham. I haven't read a single book from the Non-fiction or Si-Fi genre this year.

I am sad to say that I haven't really read any scary books, at all. The closest I got to reading a scary book was when I read the first page from Anna Dressed In Blood in the book store. I just don't like scary books for some reason.  I will watch scary movies, I just won't read the book.

Q: What do you hope to accomplish with your blog? Is it to one day become an author yourself, just for fun, maybe get some online attention, or maybe something very different?

 

 

 

    My goal for this blog is to reach 100 followers before next year, because it would be nice to have that much people to talk about books with and then I would finally get to do a giveaway!!
 However, I made this blog just for fun and to talk about books, because I was tired of talking about the books I was reading with my family and friends who didn't really like the books I was reading or didn't like books at all. I hope to one day be a published author but I don't know if my blog would contribute much to that.

Q: What is the BIGGEST word you've seen used in a book lately - that made you stop and look it up? Might as well leave the definition & book too.


     I can't remember the last time I looked up a word. Even if I did see a word I didn't know in a book. Most of the time I can understand a little bit of what it means be reading the rest of the sentence, or the surrounding sentences. I will every now and again look up a word if it keeps bothering me after I put the book down, but I haven't done it in a while.

Q: What hyped up book was worth all of the fuss?



    For me that would have to be Delirium by Lauren Oliver. I heard so much many great things about this book and when I picked it up I figured out that they where all right. The plot was so unique and fantastic, the characters where wonderful, and the writing was so captivating. I fell in love with this book not even half way though it. It's so awesome.

Q: What hyped up book do you think was not worth all the talk?

 

 

    For me that would have to be the Tiger's Curse series. I have heard so many good things about this book and it seemed that everyone who read it loved the series. So, I got it and it was so disappointing. I couldn't even finish the book. I thought the love was cheesy and the characters where so unrealistic and the plot was sooooooo slow. I got to page 280 and barley anything happened. I don't see what all the hype was about.
