The TBR Tag

I drafted this post months and months ago and then recently I found it again. So....I'm posting it. I'm ashamed how many posts I lose in the draft pile because I just forgot all about them.

How do you keep track of your TBR pile?
I usually just use my mind. I don’t have a spread sheet or a list or anything. I just have a few shelves on my bookshelf and wall shelves dedicated to books I haven’t read yet. I’ve tried the spreadsheets, but I like this way better because I can just look at my shelves and know what I have and have not read yet. As to TBR books that haven’t released or I don’t own yet I don’t have a system. A while ago I made a lists but I never kept up and rarely looked at them.  Also I make a monthly TBR that I try to use as a guide for the monthly reading, but I haven’t stray from it.

Is your TBR mostly print or ebook?
Defiantly print. I have a lot of free unread books on my Nook and some books that I bought, but I have much more in print because I prefer to read print books. I like reading e-books just fine, but I like reading print books better.

How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?
I am a mood reader so I cannot plan what to immediately read next or even a few reads next. This is why I often stray from my monthly TBR pile because I never really know what I am in the mood to read next until I’m done with the current book ready to read the next book. This gets annoying especially if I can’t pin-point what I am in the mood to read and sometimes it takes me days to figure out the book I want to read.

A book that’s been on your TBR list the longest?
This is a hard question because there are a few books that have been on my TBR pile for a while, but I will have to go with Luxe by Anna Godberson. This one has been on my TBR shelf for about 3 some years. It was one of the first books I got one I started avidly buying books.

A book that you recently added to your TBR pile?
Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell. I just bought this one and I am excited to read it!

A book on your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover:
I like the premise of this book too, but I kind of only got this book for the beautiful butterflies.

A book on your TBR that you NEVER plan on actually reading:
The premise sounded good when I bought it, but now I don't think I'm ever going to get to it.

An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for:

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you:
Ten Tiny Breaths by K. A. Tucker
A lot of people I know have read this one and constantly recommend this one to me

A book on your TBR that basically everyone has read except you:
Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.
I feel like everyone has read the Vampire Academy series but me.

A book on your TBR that you’re dying to read:
Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas
I feel so ashamed because I haven't read this yet!

The number of books on your Goodreads TBR shelf?
504, there's a lot of books on that shelf.

Happy reading

Top Can't Wait Books of 2015

Here are my releases I am must excited for in 2015. I drafted this in the end of December, so some of these have already released.

Firefight by Brandon Sanderson
Releases--January 6th 2015

I loved Steelheart and Brandon Sanderson's writing, so obviously I can't wait for this one to release. However, the summary makes it seem like it will mostly be about the love story and since I really didn't like the romance in Steelheart I am kind of wary about this book. But since it is Brandon Sanderson I am still very excited about it.

Frostfire by Amanda Hocking
Releases-- January 6th 2015
I loved Amanda Hocking's books a few years ago, but for some reason I haven't read any of her books in the past few years. So, I really want to read this one and get back into reading her books.

Fairest by Marissa Meyer
Releases-- January 27th 2015
I'm not the biggest fan of this series, but I still find it entertaining and this novella/book (I don't know if it's a full length novel or not) looks really good. I want to read in the POV of the Queen, hell yes!

I Was Here by Gayle Forman
Releases-- January 27th 2015
Gayle Forman was put on my automatic authors list when I read Just One Day and now I will read anything and everything this women writes, but this one especially looks good. Although it also looks very emotional and I will probably cry, a lot, when reading this book.

The Return by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Releases--February 17th 2015
I don't really know what this book is about, but since I know it's a companion series to the Covenant series and its from Jennifer L. Armentrout I am still very excited about this book.

Shadow Study by Maria V. Snyder
Releases--February 24th 2015
This is easily my most excited release for 2015. It's a sequel series to the Study series. You heard me right. This book continues the story of Yelena and Valek and I can't wait to read it!!

The Winner's Crime by Marie Rutkoski
Releases--  March 3rd 2015
I loved the Winner's Curse and I can't wait to go back into this world and see what happens next!! I need to know what happens to Kestrel and Arin!

The Orphan Queen by Jodi Meadows
Releases-- March 10th 2015
I've only read one Jodi Meadow's books, but I fell in love with her writing style. So, when I learned that she was releasing another series, but this time about a spying, thieving princess trying to take back her homeland I was jumping up and down in joy!! I need to read this book!

Miss Mayhem by Rachel Hawkins
Releases--April 7th 2015
I thought that Rebel Belle was such a great book and I can't wait for this one to release to see what happens next!

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

Releases--May 5th 2015
Um..have I ever mentioned how obsessed I am about her Throne of Glass series? Oh, I have, okay. I literally screamed and jumped up and down when I learned that she was writing another fantasy series and the first one would be released in 2015. I need this book, asap.

Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge
Releases--May 5th 2015
I really, really enjoyed reading Cruel Beauty and I can't wait to read more from this author!

Lion Heart by A. C. Guaghen
Release--May 19th 2015
It will be sad to see this series go, but I still can't wait for this one to release. I need to know what happens and how it will end.

The Cage by Megan Shepherd
Releases-- May 26th 2015
I really disliked the Madman's Daughter by her, but I did like the writing (I just didn't like the plot or the characters) and since this book looks really interesting I can't wait to read it.

The Boy Most Likely To by Huntley Fitzpatrick
Releases--June 2015
I loved The Boy Next Door and I was so disappointed in 2014 when I saw this wasn't going to release until 2015. But now its 2015 and I can't freaking wait for this one to release!

The Stars Never Rise by Rachel Vincent

Releases--June 9th 2015
This book looks next to awesome, add in there the fact that it's written by Rachel Vincent and you have a recipe for an amazing book!

Sweet Temptation by Wendy Higgins
Releases-- September 8th 2015
I have a feeling I might need to re-read the series before I read this, but that's okay. I loved this series and I can't wait to read a full length book from Kaiden's POV!

Throne of Glass #4 Sarah J. Maas
Releases--September 10th 2015
Even though I haven't read Heir of Fire yet, I still had to put this one on the list.

January Wrap-up

This month, depending on how you look at it, was either really good or really bad. I started my new semester for college and I am taking the most college courses than I ever had at one time and it's going really good. I'm off to a good start. I already found my schedule (usually it takes months for me to get a good rhythm going for a new school semester) and I think I did pretty good balancing school and reading. I managed to read 5 books in January. However, blogging wise I've done horribly. I posted some things, but not a lot. I wanted to post at least three times a week (a review, a Harry Potter Moment, and a random post) but I didn't even manage that. Not to mention I barely commented on other blogger's posts and I hate that! This month I want to devote a little bit more time for blogging. However, I have a week vacation in the middle of February and so that goal might not happen since I have to work harder at school so I can get far enough ahead that I won't have any unfinished school work to do during that week.
