It is no secret that I love this series with all of my heart. It is one of my all time favorite series and I wanted it to end with a bang. I wanted this last book to be amazing and outstanding. So of course I was really nervous that it wouldn't meet my expectations. But I swallowed my fear and jumped right into this book and holy crap this book was amazing!! It was everything I hoped it would be!! I don't know why I ever doubted Tahereh Mafi for a second. This book was amazing!!!

One of the reasons I loved this book was that it improved on some little issues I was having with the series. One of those issues was the world-building or lack of it. It wasn't like Mafi didn't write world-building it was just that Juliette didn't really see the world. However, in this one she really stepped up and really focused on the world, because of this we as the readers got more clarity when reading about the world. It felt like I was able to clearly visualize the setting and the places they went, which wasn't many new places, but still it was great to really see the world.

What really blew me away in this book was the plot. It was amazing!! Just freaking fantastic!! I loved every single second of it!! There wasn't a part that I did not like, at all. It wasn't completely full of action, but it did have more of it then Unravel Me did. Even though it didn't have much action the suspense and drama, among other things, made up for it and kept you on the edge of your seat. It was just an outstanding, captivating, and enchanting plot. I was swept up in this tale and I still am. Even weeks after finishing I am still thinking about it and the characters and everything else about it and I know I will still be thinking about this book, this series for weeks and months and years after this.

Like I said, there was some action in this, which I really enjoyed. However, what really made this plot was the fact that Juliette finally stepped up to the plate and refused to get down. The war finally got going and that was really great to read. I loved how finally they are fighting with Juliette to take down and tear apart the Reestablishment. All the characters where really kick-ass, especially Juliette. She was the star of this book.

That leads me to my next point, Juliette was outstanding in this book!! It was amazing to she got the resolve to stand up for the world. She was so kick-ass in this book that I was amazed. Her character development throughout the whole series is amazing, but we really get to see it in this book. We get to see how far she's come since the first book and it really made me so happy for her. I love her character and I was so glad that she finally stopped letting fear rule her. I just loved that!!

I just didn't love Juliette's character, I loved every character in this book (even though Adam was a jerk in this book I still loved his character). Tahereh Mafi has such a talent for writing characters. She can write some of the most complicated, realistic, and lovable characters. If you need an example just look as Kenji's character. At first he seems the usually funny side character, but throughout the series, and especially in this one, he gets so much depth and he feels like a real person. He is one of my favorite characters in this series.

There was one and only problem I had with this book. So, I didn't like how Juliette's and guy's (I won't tell you which one) relationship was in this book. I still liked them together, I thought that they are really great together, but I felt like something was happening in this one that cheapened their relationship. I won't go into details for fear of accidentally spoiling someone, but just know I wish their relationship developed a bit differently. However, I am still glad he was her final choice.

Seriously, stop reading this paragraph, there are spoilers. Just skip to the last paragraph. So, what really made this book, what really made this ending of the whole series, was how she went about it. I liked how it was ended. I loved how it was the ending and felt like the ending, but at the same time was not the end of the war. I like how it ended with just the first battle of the war and not the ending of the war. I would have been very disappointed if she wrote it so they won the whole war. I would not have liked that at all and I was really nervous that she was going to do that. So, I am really happy that she ended it during the aftermath of the first battle and left the series on a hopeful note. I was also really impressed that she managed this. I've read many series enders that were suppose to be like this, but the author messed it up. That isn't much of a surprise, Tahereh Mafi is an outstanding and amazing writer.

One last thing, I may be biased with this series. I love these books so much and these characters. So, when reading this I could see the faults it had and I didn't really care. Even after reading it and being away from the story for a little bit I still don't care. I don't care that everyone just went along with the fact that a probably mentally unstable person was going to lead the rebellion. I didn't really care how we got very little facts about how the ending went down; like who the hell was that blond guy she fought. I really didn't care how the battle was to short and she defeated him in like 20 pages. I just love this series to much to have cared about these things.

Overall I was blown away by this book. I felt like it was a really great and wonderful ending to this beloved series, even though I might be biased. It captivated me and tore me to pieces. It made me laugh and made me cry. It filled me with hope and then threw me off a cliff. It has shocked me to my very being and has left me rattled beyond repair. It was an outstanding, brilliant, and utterly amazing book.
