December 17: Top Ten New-To-Me Authors I Read In 2013

In no order, here are my top ten new to me authors read this year.

Cinder my Marissa Meyer
I heard so many great things about this book, so I read it and loved it!! It was such a good unique twist to the Cinderella story. I loved it!!!

Incarnate by Jodi Meadows
I went into this book not expecting much, but I was blown away!! I loved it to bits and pieces!!

Splintered by A. G. Howard
This was another great twist on a classical tale, it was amazing!! I loved it so much!! I can't wait for the second one to release!

The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson
I was actually expecting to hate this book because of the religious aspects, but I ended up loving it!!! It was so freaking amazing!!!

Insomnia by J. R. Johansson
This book is one of my top 2013 reads!! It was so amazingly outstanding!! It had me on the edge of me seat the whole time!! It terrified me to no end, it was brilliant. It is also such an underrated book, I feel like it deserves so much more hype then it's getting.

My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
This was such a fun summer read!! I flew through the pages and loved every second of it!

Ten by Gretchen McNeil
This was another book that scared the crap out of me. It didn't help I read the scariest parts at night, when I was home alone. Yeah, probably not the wisest decision I've ever made.

The Edge of Never by J. A. Redmerski
This was a really great read! I loved the romance in it, but I feel like some aspects of it were rushed. And that take away from my reading experience, but it was still good.

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith
I thought that this was such a entertaining read. I went into it thinking it was going to be a fun summery read and it was in some parts, but it also had some serious aspects to it. And that made the book a fantastic read!!

The Forsaken by Lisa M. Stasse
This book was such a thrilling and exciting ride! I read it in a day!! I loved everything in this book!!

My Holiday giveaway is still going: click HERE to go to and have a chance to win a paperback copy of Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas.

That's my top ten, what's yours?
Happy reading

  5. I kept meaning to read Incarnate and Cinder but I just kept getting distracted! Actually, I think I was distracted by Splintered and the Fire and Thorns series... so I guess it all evens out. At least we share some of the same author love, Rae Carson and A.G. Howard are now on my auto-buy list. :)

  12. I really want to read Scarlet!! If I don't get to it this year, I know I will get to it early next year. Maybe it's a good thing I haven't read it yet, because when I do read it will be closer to Cress's release. Then I don't have that long to wait to read the next one.
