Happy Birthday to Harry Potter!

Harry Potter Month is a month long event hosted by Faith over at @ GeekyZooGirl and Micheline @ Lunar-Rainbows. It is to celebrate the Harry Potter series. You can post about anything HP related and win points for your House and maybe win the House Cup.

Today, July 31st, is the Birthday of one of my most beloved characters, Harry Potter. Woot *throws confetti in the air, leads parade down the street, play horribly in the marching band*!!! This also means the end to Harry Potter Month and I am so sad to see it go. I've had a blast these past few weeks fangirling about Harry Potter with all you guys, gushing about Sirius Black, ranting about Movie Ginny. Even though I haven't commented as much as I wanted to these last two weeks and posted very little, I still had a great time and I am so glad I decided to do all of this with you guys!

Harry Potter would be 35 today, sitting at home with Ginny, Ron and Hermione, and his kids, celebrating with a cake with green icing that Hagrid sent him. They would all be laughing at the memories, reminiscing about his time at Hogwarts. It would be all great fun. And then when the festivities ended and everyone was leaving, Harry would stop and think about the birthday that changed his life. He would think about his brief days at the miserable shack on the water with fondness because that was when Hagrid broke down the door and told him that he was a wizard. It was the day that he felt hope swell in his chest again, the day that everything started to make sense, the day he discovered who he was. It was this day that would impact his life forever and thus impact ours.

Harry Potter has influenced my life so much and I am so happy I decided to reread them and see the magic for myself. I am amazed at how life-changing this book was, not just for me but hundreds, thousands, millions of other people around the world. It blows my mind that J. K. Rowling wrote such an influential book and how the world came together, in a sense, to read it. So many people knew the exact day the next book or movie was going to release. So many people woke up those days with a smile on their face because more Harry Potter, so many people stood in the midnight release lines, so many people connected and developed relationships and friendships because of Harry Potter. Say what you will about the movies or the series itself, as soon as The Sorcerors Stone released a classic was born and I can't wait for the day it will become official and I can buy all of the "Classic" editions of these books.

I will stop ranting about the amazingness of Harry Potter now. I don't know if this post makes much sense, but I've been re-writing it over and over for 3 days now and this is as good as its going to get.

Happy Birthday Harry Potter

Harry Potter Moment (13)

Harry Potter Moment of the Week is a  meme hosted by Leah @ Uncorked Thoughts  and Micheline @ Lunar Rainbows Reviews. The idea is to share a favorite moment, magical item, character, spell, quote, object from the books, films or J.K.Rowling herself!  How to join up &  upcoming topics here.

Which Book(s) Would You Recommend to Draco?

The Blood of Eden series by Julie Kagawa

This series dives into a lot of themes about killing, being human, being judged because of what you are, and becoming a monster. All of these themes I think will directly hit Draco because of how he was raised to think and what his family tried to make him do. He'll see how horrible the life was for the humans just based on the fact that they were inferior. He might empathize with Allison a whole lot and learn a lot from her struggles.

Also, if it is allowed, I would give him the Harry Potter series so he can see how his actions affected everyone else. At the end of the series, you could see that he was feeling very guilty but was still struggling to change. So, what better than to show him Harry's perspective of his bullying, how it affected Hermione, all of the pain the trio went through, and the good things about fighting against Voldemort.

Harry Potter Month: Favorite Characters

Harry Potter Month is a month long event hosted by Faith over at @ GeekyZooGirl and Micheline @ Lunar-Rainbows. It is to celebrate the Harry Potter series. You can post about anything HP related and win points for your House and maybe win the House Cup.

I wanted to talk about my top favorite Harry Potter characters and I've written and rewritten this post many times because I don't feel like I did any of the characters justice, but if I keep this up Harry Potter month will be over.

Ginny Weasley

Ginny Weasley is one of my all time favorite character in the Harry Potter series! I like to be clear that I mean book Ginny, not movie Ginny. Ginny is such a kickass character! In the Order of the Pheonix she blew up a freaking Death Eater! And in the Half-Blood Prince she got into Slughorn's club by perfectly executing a complicated hex! Hell yeah, she is a kick ass character. Not to mention her importance in the last book and Dumbledore's Army. I feel like her character is often forgotten about and looked over because of how the movies butchered her character.

I shipped her and Harry so much because their relationship had depth and meaning. I love how she moved past her crush on Harry and was able to become one of his friends. She became the fourth member of their group and it was so great! It brought depth to her character and her relationships with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. I fell in love with the scene where she talks to Harry about her time being possessed by Tom Riddle in the Chamber of Secrets and assured him he wasn't being possessed as well. It was so sweet and it brought both her and Harry together.

Hermione Granger

This has been said so many times before and I don't want to sound like a broken record, but I love how Hermione was a strong female character that was also girly. So many times in books the main female character is either a ditzy girly-girl or a kick-butt tom-boy; there is almost never anyone in-between except Hermione. She liked dressing up and being acknowledged as a gorgeous woman in Goblet of Fire, but she was still someone you didn't want to cross. She was a kick-ass female heroine who liked to go shopping and I loved that!

I also loved her relationships with everyone. Her and Ron was so cute together and I loved how they always bickered with each other. The other reason I shipped them together so much is because I loved her friendship with Harry. Another way Hermione differed from the norm was that she had a friendship with a male character that did not turn into a romantic relationship. Not every guy you met will fall in love you or vice versa; most times you end up becoming really good friends and have a great friendship. I just really appreciated her friendship with Harry, especially in the last book when Ron was gone.

Harry Potter

Something that I find strange is that for being the main character Harry is rarely people's favorite character and he often gets a lot of hate. Most of the time a main character is often revered by the readers as some godlike creature who can do no wrong, but not with Harry. It's weird.

Harry is such a great character because he is not only brave, but loyal and will do anything to save the people he cares about. Heck, he sacrificed himself to Voldemort to save everyone at Hogwarts. He went up against one of the most powerful dark wizards ever, knowing he was going to die, but doing it none the less because there was a chance it would save his friends. That takes a huge amount of bravery and guts and I admire the hell out of him because of that. Not a lot of people would be able to that, fictional or real.

I am also amazed by how nice of a person he was. He lived in the Dursley house for years, wanting their love but only getting abuse and hatred. He could have easily let that turn him into a bitter person, hating the world and the people in it, but he didn't. Instead, he got stronger and he allowed his heart to grow, especially when he met Hermione and Ron. Harry has such a big heart against all odds and I love that about him. He even forgave Voldemort in the end, something that even Dumbledore was amazed at.

I also respect his character a lot because he had so much depth and he. had. flaws. He was the hero, but he was often selfish, caught up in his own troubles, and not the brightest bulb on the tree. In The Prisoner of Azkaban when Ron and Hermione got into the fight, Harry stuck with Ron, yes, but in the progress he forgot about Hagrid and Buckbeek. That showed us the readers that he isn't always selfless. When he gets the wrapped broomstick that still looks like a freaking broomstick from Professor McGonagall he's like "What's this?" (That is a broomstick Harry, not a car). I really appreciated this because it made him seem like an actual human being.

Sirius Black

Sirius Black is one of my all time favorite character ever, not just in Harry Potter. He is not only incredibly loyal, but he also smart and not afraid to be who he was. I think I truly fell in love with Sirius when we learned about his past and his family. The fact that his family was the stuck-up pure-blood family that looked down on everyone else really added to his character. I always admired how he accepted the fact that he wasn't like his family, that he didn't judge people based on family heritage  nor did he look down on mudbloods. And how his family ridiculed him and shunned him because he was placed in Gryffindor instead of Slytherin made me feel for his character. I always find it amazing that even though his family tried again and again to mold him into the person they wanted him to be he still managed to stick up for himself and be himself.

Yes, when he was younger he was very rash and stubborn, but that was just who he was. Over the years he did mellow out and became less obnoxious, but he still had his fire and he wasn't afraid to go into a dangerous situation for a good cause. For Pete's sake, he was willing (and smart enough) to become an Animagus for Lupin and constantly put himself in a dangerous situation every month to help protect Lupin from his actions. If that isn't loyalty I don't know what it. Also, his willingness to go head first in a possibly dangerous situation came in handy when he joined The Order.

Fanadom Mash-Up (11)

This is a new fun feature hosted and created by Micheline over at Lunar-Rainbows. For this feature, there will be a new fictional scenario each week and you will create your dream team of five different characters from five different fandoms around this scenario.

Some villain's out there wrecking havoc and in need of a serious beat-down. Who do you bring with to kick some ass?

Celaena Sardothien
Of Course. She can kick some serious ass. And if we needed someone to spy on the villain to determine his/her plan.

Captain America
One of the reasons I love Captain America so much is because he is like a ninja. He knows how to kick some serious ass and can take a punch. Also, he is very ethical and will probably keep the rest of the team equally as evil as the villain.

Valek (Poison Study)
Valek is another kick-ass spy. assassin and we be perfect for this scenario! Not only can he fight and hide (who knows, our initial attack might backfire and we need to go underground) he is also immune to magic. So, if our bad guy has magical abilities Valek will be completely immune.

Naruto (Naruto Shippuden)
Naruto is a sweetheart and is very much a hero. He can kick some serious ass and is scary powerful. However, what makes him perfect for this is also how he protects innocents.  That means he is thinking about all of the people dying because of the villain and what is the best way to protect them.

Katara (Avatar the Last Airbender)
Katara has healing powers and can also kick some butts when she wants to. She would be able to heal all of the innocent caught in the crossfire and protect them with walls of ice.

Who would be on your team?

Harry Potter Moment (12)

Harry Potter Moment of the Week is a  meme hosted by Leah @ Uncorked Thoughts  and Micheline @ Lunar Rainbows Reviews. The idea is to share a favorite moment, magical item, character, spell, quote, object from the books, films or J.K.Rowling herself!  How to join up &  upcoming topics here.

Favorite James Potter Moment

I have a lot of respect for James Potter. Yes, he was a jerk and a bully when he was younger but he grew out of that and matured past that. He was always so loyal and compassionate. He spent years of his life trying to become Animagus to help Lupin, he saved Snape from Sirius' cruel prank, and probably so much more that we never learned about. Also, the bullying against Snape was horrible but at the same time, it was more of a feud than anything else. Snape bullied James and James bullied Snape. They hated each other's guts and so I think it is almost unfair to say James was a bully and forget Snape was also a bully and, unlike Snape, James moved past that. Years later Snape was still a bully, to Harry and Neville and countless other students. So, I have a lot of respect for James and his character development. I always thought it was a huge testament to how much he grew and how much Lilly loved him that she was able to forgive him for his past. I shipped Lilly and James so hard.

Anyway, moving on. My favorite James moment is when he turned into an Animagus for Lupin. It really shows how loyal he was to the people he cared about. He literally went through years studying and trying to become an Animagus to protect Lupin from doing something he regretted and to show Lupin he wasn't alone. That is some loyalty and I also liked how (if memory serves me correctly) James started the quest to become an Aminagus during his first few years at Hogwarts. It just shows that James wasn't a complete jerk when he was young.

What was your favorite James moment?

Fandom Mash-Up (10)

This is a new fun feature hosted and created by Micheline over at Lunar-Rainbows. For this feature, there will be a new fictional scenario each week and you will create your dream team of five different characters from five different fandoms around this scenario.

You're going on a shopping spree! Win. Who do you want to go splurging with?

Celaena Sardothien
Celaena would be so fun to hang out with! Not to mention she has a great sense of style and loves shopping! I think it's always good to go shopping with people who avidly like to shop or else you will get tired very quickly. Also, she loves books just as much as me and so she would be down to just go to bookstores into of clothing stores.

Luna Lovegood
Luna is my fictional best friend, so of course I would want to go shopping with her! I also think she would take us to some interesting stores.

Warner (Shatter Me)
Warner has some damn good taste in clothes. He bought all of Juliette's clothes and they seemed like some fabulous dresses. Also, I think he would do good with some relaxing, fun times. Although, he would probably make up a shopping schedule and if we didn't follow it to the letter he would get mad at us.

Alice Cullen (Twilight)
Alice loves clothes and fashion, I honestly think she likes them more than Celaena. She would be perfect for this situation. She would know all the good clothes brands and she can look into the future to see if anything good will be on sale.

Tony Stark
Tony would be absolutely perfect if we ever wanted to buy anything related to computers or tech of any kind. I know nothing about computers or cameras or anything technology-related and so his knowledge would be very valuable. Also, he is super rich and just seems very fun to hang out with.

Who would you hang out with?

Harry Potter Moment (11)

Sorry this is a day late, but my life has been super busy this week and added to that I am sick. I am really reay sick, bad enough that I was bedridden Sunday and Monday so no Fandom Mashup :(. Its nothing serious, just the flu, but it has been miserable.

If I went to Hogwarts, who would my boyfriend/girlfriend be?

So, this is the easiest question ever. Of course, I would date Sirius Black if given the choice. He is one of my favorite characters in the whole series so hell yeah I would date him. Although considering how young I am now and how he was like in his thirties in the books, I would want to date his younger self.

My other choice would have been George. He is funny and I have always had a huge crush on him. And he would need someone to lean on when Fred d-dies *sobs uncontrollably*.

Harry Potter Month: My Introduction to Harry Potter

I saw Lee over at Rally the Readers share her story of how she was introduced to Harry Potter and Alex from The Book Banner. I loved the idea of sharing our stories of how we were introduced to the series and decided to share my story as well.

So, when I was a kid I loved reading, I have basically loved reading since I learned how. So, with that you probably think I started reading Harry Potter as soon as book 1 came out and I've followed it until book 7 and watched all the movies as soon as they came out. That would be both right and wrong. I did watch all of the movies as soon as they came out because my Mom loved Harry Potter and she would constantly try and get me to read it. However, at that age I was very much a hipster and I only wanted to read unknown books so I could say how great these books were that nobody knew *rolls eyes at my past self*. I was a big silly back then. So, I never read the books until they all had come out and the Order of the Phoenix movie was releasing, but I'll get back to that.

Now, you might be wondering how watching the first movie didn't instantly make me want to read all of the books. I was such a big hipster I just didn't want to read the books, I wanted to hate the story. So, when I went to the theaters with my Mom instead of watching it I took a nap. Now put down those pitchforks and torches, you must remember I was very young at this time. I was like 4. Heck, I watched the first movie before I turned into that hipster reader, or even a reader, that came later, like when I was 7. But for all of the movies until the fifth I didn't really pay attention because I didn't want to like it *rolls eyes so hard at my past self*.

Then when I was like 10 or 11 I went to daycare during the day. The lady who ran the daycare was another huge reader and Harry Potter fan. When she learned I had never read the Harry Potter series even though I was a fellow book nerd she was determined to get me to read them. I finally accepted when she offered to lend me her copies which I knew was a big deal because she coveted her first edition hardcovers, she wouldn't let anyone near them let alone borrow them. So, I went home and read them all in less than two weeks. All seven books in less than 14 days, I powered through them, even the Order of the Pheonix. Looking back at it now I wish I took my time because I read them so fast that I really didn't get an understanding for the story. I read them fast not necessarily because I was in love but because I wanted to say I read them all in two weeks *urggg, I did not like past reader me*. So Because I had such a vendetta against them for so many years and because I read them so fast, I didn't fall in love with the story when I finished the series *hides behind my desk to avoid the pitchforks *. I was so determined to be outside the norm that I forced myself to hate them.

Looking back now I am really annoyed with my past self. I was such a big silly because a couple of years later between the Deathly Hallows movies I had this urge to re-read the series so I could understand what was happening better. When I did this I was over my hipster phase and I went into the re-read with a clear head and low expectations because I just remembered not really liking the books. I instantly feel in love with book 1 and again read them all in like 3 weeks, but this time it was because I was in love and I read them slow enough to grasp a lot more information. It was at this time that I realized what a hipster I once was and how I kind of forced myself not to like this series. I got so freaking mad at myself when I realized this because the movies were almost all over and I felt like no one would want to talk to me about Harry Potter anymore. I felt like I missed the Hogwarts Express and I was screwed. Obviously I was wrong *gestures to Harry Potter month* and I am so glad I was because I love Harry Potter so much and it would suck if I couldn't really talk about it with anyone!

That was my long story of how I was introduced to HP and went from hating to loving it.

Harry Potter Month: Favorite Quotes

Harry Potter Month is an event taking place in the month of July to coincide with Harry Potter's Birthday. It is hosted by Fatih @GeekyZooGirl and Micheline @ Lunar Rainbows. The plan is to fill the month with everything related to Harry Potter, like themed posts, discussions, re-reading the books and re-watching the movies. All of these things will allow you to earn House-Points towards the House Cup. For more info or to sign up, go here.

For my next Harry Potter Month post I wanted to share with you all my favorite quotes from the books. And to make sure this post isn't too long I'll just be sharing my top 7 favorite quotes. These are in no particular order. Also, I tried getting one quote from each book, but I never really had a beloved quote from Chamber of Secrets and Order just had so many great quotes! I think the "Give Her Hell" quote from the Order is one of my all time favorite quotes and I have no idea why. I remember reading the book and when I got to that part it just really stuck with me.

1. “I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.”
― J.K. RowlingHarry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
I love this quote so much because it always reminds me of the fun and wimsical side of Harry Potter. This series is great because it is so complex and devestating, but also because it has this childish feeling that always makes me feel better.

2. “Every second he breathed, the smell of the grass, the cool air on his face, was so precious: To think that people had years and years, time to waste, so much time it dragged, and he was clinging to each second.”
― J.K. RowlingHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
I love this so much because it motivates me to live more. Instead of just wasting tine I can be doing something, even if its just talking to someone .

3.“If you want to know what a man's like, take a look at how he treats his inferioirs, not his equals."
-J. K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
I love this quote so much because it embodies so many themes that are in Harry Potter. I also love it because Sirius said it.

4.“Don't worry. You're just as sane as I am.”
― J.K. RowlingHarry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
This quote always brings a smile to my face because it is so wonderfully weird. Its like a stand against social convention, just because someone acts different than you doesn't mean they are crazy.

5. “Give her hell from us, Peeves.”
― J.K. RowlingHarry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
I remember the first time I read the Order and i got to this part I literally stopped reading just to stare at this sentance. I can't really explain to you why I love this quote so much, but I do.

6. “What happened down in the dungeons between you and Professor Quirrell is a complete secret, so, naturally the whole school knows.”
― J.K. RowlingHarry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
I always smile when I read this quote because of Dumbledore's humor always cracks me up. Also, the moment in the movies when Dumbledore said this is one of the most vivid scenes I remember.

7. “It was important, Dumbledore said, to fight, and fight again, and keep fighting, for only then could evil be kept at bay, though never quite eradicated. . . .”
― J.K. RowlingHarry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Why this quote sruck with me even though its not that popular because its worss to live by. You can never give up, even when your not fighting evil.

What are your favorite quotes from the series?

Harry Potter Moment (10)

Harry Potter Moment of the Week

Harry Potter Moment of the Week is a  meme hosted by Leah @ Uncorked Thoughts  and Micheline @ Lunar Rainbows Reviews. The idea is to share a favorite moment, magical item, character, spell, quote, object from the books, films or J.K.Rowling herself!  How to join up &  upcoming topics here.

Favorite Lupin Moment?

This was very easy and very difficult at the same time. When I read the topic I instantly thought of so many great moments of his and it was very hard narrowing them down to one. Lupin is such a  great character and I love him so much, so it was very hard to came up with only one moment when every scene he has been in was wonderful to read.

When Lupin "Confiscated" the Marauder's Map from Harry. Why I love this scene so much is because Lupin acts as both a teacher and a kid. He takes it away from Harry not only because a student shouldn't have this but also because he doesn't want Snape to have it. I think its one of the only times where we get to see the childish side of him. He had to have had a childish side because he was friends with James and Sirius. I know he was the sensible one in the group, but to initially start hanging out with them you have to have a childish side as well. Also, I love the sass he has when he took away the map. It wasn't just like, "oh, I'm now going to take this map now", it was more of a "bitch please, you can't handle this map".

What was your favorite LupinMoment?

Harry Potter Month: HP Book Editions

Harry Potter Month is a yearling event taking place in the month of July to coincide with Harry Potter's Birthday.
I am participating in Harry Potter month and so most of my posts this month will probably be centered around Harry Potter. You have been fairly warned.

For my first post, I will be showcasing my favorite book editions for the HP series. These are not only American or British editions but any edition I find absolutely gorgeous! Also, obviously I don't know every single edition of the HP series out there, these are just my favorites out of the few that I know.

1. The  American 15th Anniversary Edition Illustrated by Kazu Kibuishi
Just look at these beauties, not to mention the gorgeous box in the box-set

2. New Bloomsbury Children's Edition
These came out last September and are just stunning. I could look at them all day =D. I especially love the Chamber of Secrets cover because I think the phoenix in Basilisk's mouth is just epic!

And here's a spin view!!

3. German Edition
What I really like about the German editions is how you can tell which book is which by jus looking at the covers. You don't need to know German to know the cover with the time-turner is Prisoner of Azkaban, or that the cover with the glass eye is the Goblet of Fire.

4. Hogwarts Wooden Steamer Trunk- Patronus Edition
This isn't official a different edition, but this was just so beautiful I couldn't not put it on here.

This edition has not yet released yet and only the Philosopher's Stone cover as released, but it is beautiful! It releases on October 6th and one book will be published each year.

Here are some more pictures

Those are my top five favorite editions of this incredible series. What are some of yours because I know there are a lot more beautiful editions out there? Post in the comments or Tweet them at me @kim_notes

Happy Harry Potter reading!

Review: The Stars Never Rise by Rachel Vincent

Grade: 3 Butterflies
Series: The Stars Never Rise #1
Author: Rachel Vincent
Publisher: Delacorte Press

Goodreads Summary

Sixteen-year-old Nina Kane should be worrying about her immortal soul, but she's too busy trying to actually survive. Her town's population has been decimated by soul-consuming demons, and souls are in short supply. Watching over her younger sister, Mellie, and scraping together food and money are all that matters. The two of them are a family. They gave up on their deadbeat mom a long time ago.

When Nina discovers that Mellie is keeping a secret that threatens their very existence, she'll do anything to protect her. Because in New Temperance, sins are prosecuted as crimes by the brutal Church and its army of black-robed exorcists. And Mellie's sin has put her in serious trouble.

To keep them both alive, Nina will need to trust Finn, a fugitive with deep green eyes who has already saved her life once and who might just be an exorcist. But what kind of exorcist wears a hoodie?

Wanted by the Church and hunted by dark forces, Nina knows she can't survive on her own. She needs Finn and his group of rogue friends just as much as they need her.

This book disappointed me a bit. I went in expecting a really good book full of action and danger and what I got was a decent book that was kind of filled with action and danger. Although I still ended up enjoying it. It was a solid start to a series, it laid down a good foundation for the next few books. However, it as an individual book wasn't really great.

The characters never seemed very memorable to me and I never felt a connection to them. Whenever any of the characters were in a dangerous situation I honestly didn't care if they died or not. I had no emotions for them and that led to me having no emotional connection to the plot. The plot was good, don't get me wrong, it was good enough for me to keep on reading, but I was never on the edge of my seat in suspense. Another thing about the characters, it felt like their character development was very forced and rushed. When the Nina was introduced to the group (no spoilers) she went from being the insider to a close member of the group in 5 scenes flat. She had no emotional connection or friendship to these people and then BAM! She is instantly best friends with everyone.

The world was, hands down, the best part of this book. It was interesting and so infuriating, which was what the author was getting at. The Church angered me so much and I like how the bad guys turned out to be a surprise. I also thought the way Rachel Vincent handled religion was perfect and shows how much of a pro she is. This world is heavily surrounded by religion and yet it never felt like the author was shoving any of her ideals down your throat. I think that is because it was never said what religion The Church was, they were just The Church. Also because the religious ideas of the church were never focused on for long. The church is a big deal for the plot and the setting, but the author never went on a tangent about anything deeply religious. You got history facts and demons, but you were never preached at. I really appreciated that.

Overall, this book was a solid start to this series and the plot has a lot of protentional. I enjoyed reading it. I really loved the setting and I can't wait for the next one to explore this world a bit more. The plot was also interesting and kept me reading even though it was a bit predictable. However, the characters didn't impress me and I felt no connection to them what so ever, I honestly didn't care if any of them died. Added on to that was how the character development felt very forced and rushed. I would recommend this because it was a very enjoyable, quick book.

This book got...

3 Butterflies
Basic, nothing special.

Hermione Granger
She's the brightest witch of her age, she knows everything of course I want her to teach me. She would be perfect, although she might get carried away at some points.

Gandulf
He is the wise old wizard who's been through wars and is feared and revered all through the lands. He would be perfect. He could not only teach me magic, but all about Middle Earth, like where to go for this or that, to avoid these roads, and all about the different species and what to say and not say around them.

Rowan Whitehorn
This was a no-brainer for me. He was able to teach Celaena for gods sake. If he was able to teach Celaena Sardothian he would definitely be able to teach my clumsy self, lol =D.

Kelsier (Mistborn Series)
I think Kelsier would be perfect for this job. he taught Vin like a pro and even though I am no Vin I do believe he would do a really good job of teaching me. He would also probably know all of the secrets of the trade and would teach them to me.

Rumplestiltskn (Once Upon a Time)
I love Rumplestiltskin from Once Upon a Time and I think he would be another great teacher. Although he might try and make me kill some people. However, I"m not worried about that because all of the others would prevent him from doing anything like that.

Who would be on your team?
