Favorite James Potter Moment
I have a lot of respect for James Potter. Yes, he was a jerk and a bully when he was younger but he grew out of that and matured past that. He was always so loyal and compassionate. He spent years of his life trying to become Animagus to help Lupin, he saved Snape from Sirius' cruel prank, and probably so much more that we never learned about. Also, the bullying against Snape was horrible but at the same time, it was more of a feud than anything else. Snape bullied James and James bullied Snape. They hated each other's guts and so I think it is almost unfair to say James was a bully and forget Snape was also a bully and, unlike Snape, James moved past that. Years later Snape was still a bully, to Harry and Neville and countless other students. So, I have a lot of respect for James and his character development. I always thought it was a huge testament to how much he grew and how much Lilly loved him that she was able to forgive him for his past. I shipped Lilly and James so hard.
Anyway, moving on. My favorite James moment is when he turned into an Animagus for Lupin. It really shows how loyal he was to the people he cared about. He literally went through years studying and trying to become an Animagus to protect Lupin from doing something he regretted and to show Lupin he wasn't alone. That is some loyalty and I also liked how (if memory serves me correctly) James started the quest to become an Aminagus during his first few years at Hogwarts. It just shows that James wasn't a complete jerk when he was young.
What was your favorite James moment?
Happy Reading
I could NOT agree more Kimberly^^ James wasn't a bully, he and Snape had a feud. So calling James a bully only works if Snape gets the same treatment. And like you said: James GREW OUT OF IT. Snape, did not. I have a lot of respect for James too and I LOVE how he dedicated himself to becoming an animagus to support Lupin and reach him through his madness. It made Lupin better too according to the books so it was totally worth it ♥
ReplyDeleteYes :D I love that not only did he accept him fully for what he was, but he also worked so hard to become an animagus to help his friend through it. It also said that James and Sirius had to not only learn how to do it for themselves, but had to teach Peter as well. That's a lot of dedication to show and loyalty for friends. I love the Marauders and their friendship so much <3
ReplyDeleteThat's such a great moment. It shows just how much James cares for his friends. I love that he was able to obtain becoming an animagus. You're right, James may have been an idiot, but he had his heart in the right place most of the time!
ReplyDeleteJames was such a loyal friend, and the friendship between the four Marauders (I suppose even Wormtail, lol) is one of my all-time favorite things about the entire series. I've always hoped that JKR would write some kind of prequel about them!
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with you. Despite his flaws, James was a very loyal friend. Definitely the guy you want by your side when you uncontrollably turn into a werewolf!
