Hello, this post is about something that I'm sure most of you have heard of. I did a TBR jar. I've been seeing a lot of booktupers and bloggers alike doing this and I thought it was a great idea.
For those who don't know what a TBR jar is, this is where you take a jar and write on strips of paper the books on your TBR shelf. Hence the name. And then you put the pieces of paper in the jar. And whenever you don't know what to read you pick a piece and read the book written on it.
Those are my two jars, the tall one is all the unread books on my shelf, excluding ones that are on my summer TBR and sequels to books I haven't read. And the smaller one is all the unread classics on my shelf. And what I am going to do is in the beginning of the month, when I decide my TBR I'll pick one piece of paper from each jar. Also, I have the classic jar, because I want to read at least one classic a month.
That's it, tell my in the comments if you have a TBR jar. Or if you are thinking about creating one.
Happy reading.
This is a really good idea. I have so many unread books I need to get to. I have some review, I don't know of many classics i have ever read really and the just usual I bought too many books I haven't read yet list. I'm gonna have to go find me some cute jars and make me some too!
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing and I had never heard of it! I am constantly feeling like a camel between two bales of hay. All of the books on my shelf look awesome and I can't decide which one to read. I think I will make one for review books and fun books >.> now I just need to find some jars and paper, haha
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the best ideas I have ever seen!! I am always jumping through hoops to try to pick a book at random and THIS is the way!!!! Thanks for this wonderful idea! I will DEFINITELY be making a TBR Jar!! :)
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't my idea, its a thing thats going around Youtube, and I thought it was a great idea. And I'm like you, I kept trying to make a system to pick a book up a random, and when I saw this I'm like "I have to do this!" And it's working out great so far :D
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I will have to try this as well :)
ReplyDeleteWell thanks for sharing! I have already implemented the jar and it is working wonderfully! Hope your jar gives you lots of great reads! :)
ReplyDeleteSo far it is awesome!! It really helps when I'm just stuck and can't decide what to read.
ReplyDeleteGlad you Jar is also great :D
Wow, I made the original book jar to cheer myself up after my laptop died and then suddenly loads of people were making them and oh my word, it has been AMAZING to see what everyone is doing with the idea! Have fun with your picks - I'm about to pick my fourth choice from mine and you can see how I'm doing on my blog, Alex in Leeds.
