Stacking the Shelves (39)

"Stacking the Shelves" is a weekly theme hosted by Tynga's reviews . Feel free to join in if you want. In this theme I showcase all the books I got this week.

I had a really great week. Although when you have a stack of books on your shelf and you think to yourself that I'm going to read most of not all of these before I buy another book. And then you have to go to the library for a school book and you think to yourself "i'm only going to get one book" and the YA section calls to you. And you think you can look and you walk out of the library with 10 books. That happened to me this week. I also found a small book store with an awesome classic bookshelf. So, I got some classics.

Bought

Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen.
They had the all of the Jane Austen books in this beautiful edition, but I only bought these three. And now I'm regretting not getting them all.

Mansfield Park by Jane Austen.
I watch the movie for this one and I really enjoyed it. And I can't wait to read this one.

Emma by Jane Austen.
Also can't wait to read.

Painting in Oil by William Palluth. (The green one at the bottom).
If you don't know I love painting and this book has a lot of good tips for painting. I really liked it.

Library.

A summer to Die by Lois Sowary.
This book looks interesting and I didn't know when I got this that its the author who wrote the Giver. This looks great.

The Hunger Pains by the Harvard Lampoon.
This looks incradiply funny and I was in the mood for a funny book. I will be reading this one soon.

The Collected Poems of Emily Dickinson.
Have to read for school, good thing I like poetry.

My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
I've been wanting to read this one and so when I saw it at the library I instantly got it. I am currently reading it and it is really good so far.

Frost, Collected Poems, Prose, & Plays.
Ditto to Emily Dickinson.

Then by Morris Gleitzman.
So this one is about to kids running from the Nazis and it looks amazing!!

The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau.
I never read this series, but I watched the movie and really liked it. I heard that the movie sucks compared to the books. So, now I really want to read the books.

One Moment by Kristina McBride.
I don't really know whats this about, but it looked good.

The Secret Year by Jennifer R. Hubbard.
I wasn't going to get this one, but I thought why not. So, this book looks interesting.

Thats all I got this week, what did you get?
Happy reading.

  1. Hehe, I totally know that experience! I wasn't quite that bad when I went to the library last, but I did specifically tell my boyfriend that I couldn't checkout any books (just return one), but then I went to browse just to see what they had and walked out with two new books *sigh*

    Here is my book haul

  8. You got some really good books! I loved my Life Next Door, and surprisingly I liked One Moment. And then, A Summer to Die. I read it in elementary school and it was one of those books that stayed with me my entire life. When I was in college I wrote a paper about death in children's literature and reread it. It's a really powerful book and I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for visiting my StS.
