Best Books of 2014

Hi guys, since I missed the Top Ten Tuesday topic of this I decided to just do a regular post. Here are my top ten favorite books that I read in 2014. It was really hard to narrow this down because while I didn't read a lot of books this year I read a lot of good ones.

They are in no particular order.

1. Mistborn and The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson
I'm counting these as one since they are in the same series (Its not cheating, I swear!!).

2. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
This book was just so relateable and beautifully written, I just fell in love with it

3. The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski
Even though this book disappointed me a little bit because it focused more on the love story instead of the rebellion I still loved it because the love story was amazing! I love a good love story and this was a great love story!

4. The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons
This book broke my heart so many times and I was an emotional mess when I was reading it.This is a huge book and I thought I would take forever to finish it but I got so invested in it that I read the whole thing in 2 1/5 days.

5. The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson
This was such a great start to this series! It didn't have any of the usually first book problems, the writing was breathtaking, and I got so invested in the characters (even the "bad" ones). I just love this book!!

6. Just One Day and Just One Year by Gayle Forman
I am also counting these as two, not only because they are a series, but also because they kind of tell the same story but in different POVs so it counts as one, right?
This is one of the few contemporary stories that I not only liked but loved!

7. The Forever Song by Julie Kagawa
Even though this book was a little predictable and I thought it was way to short, it was still a great ending to a beloved series.

8. The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas
I know this is just a collection of short stories, but it felt like one single story so I'm counting it as one book.

9. Lady Thief by A.C. Gaughen
Just as good as the first one, maybe even better. The writing is so good that I felt like I was actually in the story and at one point I forgot I was reading it and wasn't inside the story.

10. Ignite me by Tahereh Mafi
Even though this book had a lot of holes and problems in it I still loved it! I love this series so much and this book was great in my biased opinion.

~Honorable mentions~
The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness
Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson
Cruel Beauty by Roseamund Hodge
The Eternity Cure by Julie Kagawa
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

  1. Ignite Me is the only book I've read from your list and I really liked it. From the rest, Just One Day and Fangirl are definitely going on my 2015 TBR. You seem to have had a great reading year. I hope 2015 holds the same for you!

  2. I'm planning on reading quite a bit of Sanderson this year, including Mistborn! Just One Day and Just One Year are also on my 2015 TBR; Gayle Forman is one of my favorite contemporary authors. I agree that Ignite Me had some plot holes in it, but same here- I absolutely loved it! Happy New Year- I hope you have an awesome 2015! :D

  3. Well, it's impossible to argue with a best-of list that includes Mistborn, Well of Ascension AND The Assassin's Blade! I just have SO MUCH LOVE for those books ♥ And I really enjoyed Fangirl too, it deserves it's spot here as well :) I still need to read Winner's Curse, Scarlet and the Shatter Me books, but I WILL get to them in 2015 :D Happy new year Kimberly, I hope you have an awesome 2015 - bookish and otherwise! xx
