"What's going on?" He whispered. "Is everything okay with.... you know?'

Cog pointed with his nose toward the two pop cops who hovered at the end of the hall.
"There watching me."

Q: What writing device or trick most irritates you when reading a book? For example, if an author employs an omnipotent narrator that is sometimes considered bad form.

I don't really get annoyed easily when it come to things authors do. There is a lot of things I hate that publishers do, but not much when it comes to authors. The closet I can say is when an author writes a book with very little dialog, because I love dialect and I get bored reading a book where most of it is internal dialog. However, I don't get annoyed when that happens, I just get really, really bored.

That is my answer, what is your's?
Happy reading.

  4. I love really good dialog too! You know who excels at that? Julia Quinn. She writes historical romance novels, so I don't know if that kind of book is your thing, but the dialog Quinn creates between her characters is amazing, intelligent, witty, but also very natural. You can picture people from that time period saying that.

  9. Sometimes being in a character's mind for too long can get boring! As a talkative person myself, I crave dialogue.
