Mackenzie and Amy were best friends. Until Amy was brutally murdered.

Since then, Mac's life has been turned upside down. She is being haunted by Amy in her dreams, and an extremist group called the Trackers has come to Mac's hometown of Hemlock to hunt down Amy's killer:

A white werewolf.

Lupine syndrome--also known as the werewolf virus--is on the rise across the country. Many of the infected try to hide their symptoms, but bloodlust is not easy to control.

Wanting desperately to put an end to her nightmares, Mac decides to investigate Amy's murder herself. She discovers secrets lurking in the shadows of Hemlock, secrets about Amy's boyfriend, Jason, her good pal Kyle, and especially her late best friend. Mac is thrown into a maelstrom of violence and betrayal that puts her life at risk.

Kathleen Peacock's thrilling novel is the first in the Hemlock trilogy, a spellbinding urban fantasy series filled with provocative questions about prejudice, trust, lies, and love.

My thoughts

I loved this book. I loved this book so much!! This book has everything that a good book should have, from completely realistic and lovable characters, to a  suspenseful and page turning pot line, and just wonderful writing that put this book together and blew my mind.

I loved this book (if you couldn't tell by now). I got this book from the library and I didn't pick it up right away, because I was kind of sick of werewolf books. One day I was bored so I picked this book up and couldn't put it down! I stayed up till 1 o'clock at night just so I could finish this book. That is how good it was.

One of the things that made the book really good even though I am tired of werewolf books, is that the author wrote it differently than the other werewolf books I have read.

The thing the author did to make this book different than the other werewolf books was that everyone knows about werewolves in this book. Almost all of the werewolf books I have read were about a person either learning about the existence of werewolves and having to keep it a secret or that person already knows about werewolves and something threatens their secret. This book wasn't like, because in this book a few years ago the President told the country that there was a virus that turns people into werewolves.

One other thing that made the plot so good was that right as I started to get bored and knowing where the book was leading, then BAM!! Something would happen that would get me excited again and totally blow my thoughts about where the book was headed to dust. There was so many twists and turns that I didn't see coming, that I was kept on my toes though out this whole book.

The characters in this book where really realistic and just wonderful. The main character in this book was so relatable and understandable, because in every decision she made I understood and I caught myself thinking a lot of times that I would do the some thing.

The one bad thing about this book was that it had a love triangle. However, this love triangle felt real, because she knew both guys for three years. Even though it felt real it still annoyed me, because I am so sick and tired of love triangles.

All in all, this was a incredible book that I would recommend to everybody. I can't wait for the second book.

This book got...

4.5 Butterflies
Beautiful, this is a great book.
Recommened if you like werewolves, supspenseful plot, and love triangles.

Thats my review, I hope you liked it.
Happy reading.
