"Stacking the Shelves" is a weekly theme hosted by Tynga's reviews . Feel free to join in if you want. In this theme I showcase all the books I got this week.
You know how for the last few weeks I bought like no books and only got a few library books a week? Yah, that no longer applies for me. In the past two weeks I got 9 books. 9. That's a lot. First I went to Barnes & Noble and got 3 books, then a few days later I went back and got 2 more books, and then finally I went to a really cheap book store that I only go to once a year, so of course I got 4 books there. Although I think I should have got more at the cheap book store because hardcovers where 8 dollars and paperbacks were 5 dollars. Who can resits a half-off hardcover? I know I couldn't.
172 Hours on the Moon by Johan Harstad
I heard a lot of amazing things about this book. It is suppose to be the freakiest and scariest book. So I decided to get it.
The Wonderful Wizard of Ozby L. Frank Baum
I've been wanting to get a really nice copy of this and when I saw this edition at Barnes and Noble It looked so pretty that I had to get it. I just love this edition!!!
Dreamless by Josphine Angelini
I read the first one of this series a while back and really enjoyed it. And I actually like this UK edition better then the US ones. So, when I saw this at the cheap book store for 5$s I had to get it. I can't wait to start reading this one!
Blood Red Road by Moira Young
I saw this one for 5$ and I decided to get it, because it looked good. And When I got home I remembered the whole controversy about the writing style so I flipped through pages and I don't think I'm going to like it. There is no quotation marks, at all! I don't like that.
The Friday Society by Aorinne Kress
Tell you the truth I don't really know what this is about, I just know it's steam-punk. And when I saw the pretty cover and the 8$ price tag I got it.
Strands of Bronze and Gold by Jane Nickerson
I've wanted to get this since it came out, but it was one of those books that I decided to get when it released in paperback. When I saw it for 8 dollars in the hardcover edition I may have squealed just a little bit. I am just so excited to start reading this one!!!
The Collected Poems of Emily Dickinson
I got this because I've been wanting to get more classics.
Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
Ditty to Emily Dickinson
Grims Complete Fairy Tales
In my German class we are studying the grim brothers, so I got this. And it's been really neat seeing the differences with the original stories and the re-told stories, like Disney movies.
Happy reading
